Featured in the January 4, 2015 Star Tribune section of the South Metro, there are new arts opportunities coming to Hastings.
Andy Evanson is a water color artist who has set up a new studio in downtown Hastings. Some of his artwork is on display and he will be having classes there soon. The open house in December was a wonderful success - so excited for Andy! Here is a link to his website.
Sarah and Travis Lockwood got an early Christmas present when they became the official owners of the building originally built as the Guardian Angel's Church - soon to be the Hastings Arts Center! I have had a behind the scenes tour of the building and am so excited about it's potential. Construction is underway to upgrade the space into a school of music with music rooms, visual artist studio space, and a large performance space. It will be great to see this space be used and cared for by arts enthusiasts! Here is a link to their facebook page - be sure to like it!
